1/27/2017 0 Comments Photoshop #2: Car RetouchingThis was my second photoshop assignment. During this assignment I learned how to use photoshop. In the past photo assignment it was a very specific step by step process. This assignment still had steps and was specific but I developed a better understanding of how to use photoshop.

1/23/2017 0 Comments Photo Assignment 2: Still LifeFor the second photo assignment I decided to shoot still life. Almost every photo I took I tried to use window lighting. During the assignment I focused a lot on shutter speed and aperture because in the previous photo shoot my shutter speed was too slow. On the other hand, I had trouble with lighting because of the reflection coming in from the window. For the next assignment I will focus more on aperture. My best photo from the second photo assignment (to the left) is a picture of a spoon with blue berries on top and scattered around on a frozen pizza sheet. My inspiration for this photo was on Pinterest. The photo had a more vintage and dark feel to it. For this photo I used "camera raw" to edit. I added temperature to make the blueberries more blue and vignetting. Technical Data Iso: 400 Shutter Speed: 1/13 Aperture: 4.0 -Other photos from the assignment below- 1/18/2017 0 Comments Photo assignment 1:FoodFor the very first assignment I decided to shoot food. I mainly shot fruit but I did take a few pictures of brownies as well. I took all of my photos by taking a lamp shade off of a lamp and placing the lamp above the subject or next to it to create a shadow. During the photo assignment I learned how to use depth of field. However, I had trouble with focusing on the subject and the photo turned out blurry. This happened because I had a very slow shutter speed. For the next photo assignment I will try a faster shutter speed so the subject will stay in focus. My best photo for this photo assignment (to the left) is a picture of fruit. My inspiration for this photo was on Pinterest, it was a picture of assorted fruit placed on a plate in a neat set up. For this photo I tried to incorporate the same idea but having contrast between the colors and a cool setup of the fruit. Also, I edited this picture in "camera raw." I added saturation, highlights, and temperature. Technical Data: Aperture: 3.5 Shutter Speed: 1/13 ISO: 400 -Other photos from the assignment are down below- 12/19/2016 0 Comments Composition assignmentAssignment Description:The compostion assignment is an assignment where I took pictures representing the elements of Compostion. The Elements of compostition include rule of thirds, depth of field, symmetry, texture, lines, pattern, framing, Balance, Space, Color, and perspective. I took these photos around school and on my own time at home and in downtown dexter. I really enjoyed experimenting all of the different elements and learning photography skills.During this assignment not only did I learn about the elements of compostion, I learned how to work the camera and how/where to place the main subject in the photograph. I am looking foward to learning more techniques and really know how to take a good picture!
